Matter of Murder
Early John Gilling film was once thought lost tells the story of a bank teller being trailed by the police after his girlfriend is found murdered. The woman was a no good golddigger and had convinced the teller to steal money for their life together. In reality she was in cahoots with a gangster who did killer when he found out she was going to double cross him. The gangster then chases the teller because he thinks he has the money.
Odd and incredibly bleak thriller, wait until you see the ending, is an okay hour’s worth of entertainment. While the central story is of interest the film keeps going off in slight tangents as we get to know side characters. It makes for a rich world the film to exist in but it makes for a slow going thriller.
While not bad, it isn’t great, but it’s still worth a look if yourun across it.
