Santa Claus stumbles into a robbery in progress and finds he has to take steps to protect the family because the little girl is one of the good ones.
Violent, off color and very funny for all the right reasons, I completely understand how this film ended up being a surprise money maker. While the film has plenty of action, what makes the film work is the collection of characters who you can’t help but love and hate. Frankly the idea of a burned out Santa Claus who just wants to get home to the MRS and is at war with his reindeer is an absolute delight.
Finding a joyous original take on the material makes this film a poster child for why originality is required in filmmaking. For no other reason we need originality because we won’t know what is coming next.
