The next best thing to seeing them live, PET SHOP BOYS DREAMWORLD: THE GREATEST HITS LIVE AT THE ROYAL ARENA COPENHAGEN, is in theaters for one more screening (February 4).
This is a record of their recent Greatest Hits Tour. It’s a 14 camera record with perfect sound that is light years beyond the cellphone video that is all over YouTube. How do I know, I’ve seen too many clips before the film was announced. I was checking out everyone’s video to see what was the best version.
If you are a fan, then you are going to want to see this film. As I said at the top this is the next best thing to being there. You get to see them up close. Additionally you get to hear them under optimal conditions. I’ve been to too many concerts were the mix was off, or where the sound was too low or too loud. Seeing the film in a theater allowed me to really hear the songs the way they should be heard.
This is just great fun.
If I was to quibble it has more to do with my comparing other concerts with this one. I liked the presentations of some of the songs visually else where. However that’s purely a personal thing.
If you are a big fan of the Pet Shop Boys this is a must. If you are casual fan this will make you a bigger fan.
