One of the best films of any length in 2026 is KILORAN BAY.
The film is a musical short film about a man returning with his husband to his hometown and dealing with all the memories of growing up there. It’s a film that uses the music and lyrics to perfectly express all of the repressed emotion of returning home. I was rocked, especially by the ending which was note perfect and completely unexpected.
All hail the cast which is headed by Alan Cumming as the man going home. His expression and his singing give the film its heart and soul- and if Oscar looked to shorts for major awards should put him in the running for a Best Actor Oscar.
This film is glorious beyond words. You must see this film.
