While I did see several animated shorts before the festival I took the time to see the the other films in both collections. Here is a few brief thoughts on the remaining films.
PETRA AND THE SUN
During a thaw Petera find the preserved body of a mountain climber. This is a dark little film that is very creepy.
HOW A RIVER IS BORN
A woman wakes up in rocky landscape and finds herself. This is a nice little film that looks great.
STILL MOVING
After a divorce a mother and daughter drive toward a new future...before coming to terms with the past. This is an emotional little film with a kick in the ass.
NIGHT AT THE REST AREA
I've been chasing this film for a while. The film is life at a rest area during a period where people are waiting for their rides. I loved this and understand why it has been playing in so many festivals.
THE PIANO
Bring tissues. This is a lovely film about how a piano connected generations. It is deeply moving.
LINIE 12
One of the best looking films in either animation collection is about a young woman and an engineer saving a train. I want a feature film from this crew.
LILY
In a film based on one of my favorite Stephen King story about a tiger in a boys bathroom. This is so much fun.
CAPTAIN ZERO INTO THE ABYSS PT II
Shot as if it were a VHS copy of an old TV series, this is a great homage to the anime shows of old
OSTRICH
A sparrow wants to be like an ostrich. This is an okay little film that suffers because of the films it was collected with.
TIGRE
A young man goes into the jungle and what he finds there. This is a great looking film.
