This is a well acted but very bleak story of a young woman who tries to lift herself out of addiction and poverty. Supposedly based on a true story it's a film where the acting carries the tale.
With apologies, I really don't have a lot more than that to say. It's not that the film is bad, more that I saw it in the middle of a large number of films playing Japan Cuts, and it didn't stand out. Yes it was good, but it suffers in comparrison to other films at the fest. It happens.
At some point I will have to revisit but for now I just need to move on until I can take it on its own terms.
