I was sent two films from the New York Shorts section of the New York Film Festival
 |
THE HOUSE CALL
a Vet drives into the country to make a house call on a horse... and then it gets weird
I'm not going to lie- this one did not work for me- and I have no idea why this is at the film festival
A WOMAN'S PLACE EVERYWHERE
Two identical sisters are on the verge of eviction when their mother dies and the landlord wants them out.
More formal than engaging.
Great honest review! Short films at major festivals can definitely be hit-or-miss, especially when they lean too heavily into surrealism or cold formality. 🎬🍿
