This is the story of the inter-racial protests that took place at the Glen Echo Amusement Park in 1960. Lead by a group called NAG that sought to end segregation, they felt that the only way that it could be achieved was by whites and blacks working together.
This is a really good look at a largely forgotten moment that helped push racial equality forward. While the film doesn’t do anything stylistically new the fact that it is highlighting a story most people don’t know lifts it up. The fact that we are introduced to a number of great people who made a difference makes it better.
I really like this film. This was one of my must sees at this years New York Jewish Film Festival. Having seen it I can honestly say that you need to put this on your must see list for the festival.
