Brailled It (2026) Slamdance 2026

Brailed It is awesome. It is the story of three of the contestants who are taking part in the Braille Challenge in Los Angeles The film was mostly shot by the contestants via cameras strapped to their chests. We do not see their faces except in reflections. It is a film ablout blind kids made by blind kids.

This is a great film. Not only does it tell an inspiring story, but the film is also a you are there portrait of what it is like to have limited or no vision. We truly see the world through their "eyes" and ears. We get to see how they move through their world without editing. We also get to truly see how sighted people react to them. It is a mind-expanding experience since it forces you to rethink how we view those with disabilities.

I’m going to be completely honest some people may get motion sick watching the film. Because the cameras are strapped according to the bodies of the subjects there are no real smooth movements. The cameras focus on what is right in front of them and it moves as they do. This results in images which shift differently than what we are used to in cinema.

And beyond that this is a great film.
