Catch up Capsules: I'M NOT EVERYTHING I WANTED TO BE and REIFENSTAHL

I'M NOT EVERYTHING I WANTED TO BE
Photographer Libuše Jarcovjáková looks back on her life via her photos and diary entries. A hypnotic trip into the life and head of a woman who charted her life and the life of people on "the fringe" of communist society.  While not for everyone, the fact the film seems to be all photos, may make some crazy, for those looking for a one of a kind experience are going to eat this up

RIEFENSTAHL
Melding an interview with Leni Refienstahl when she was well over a hundred plus the things found in a deep dive into material provided by her estate and elsewhere, this look at the life of the director, photographer and actress seeks to put the question to bed as to how in bed she was with the Nazis. This is a very good look at Riefenstahl that reveals that the stories she told for decades of her never having read Mein Kampf and not being aware of what was going on isn't wholly true.  More grounded and more realistic than some doc that sought to either reform her reputtion or dump it in the trash, the film reveals, as with everyone, that nothing is wholly black and white. At the same time anyone looking for certainty one way or another is bound to be disappointed since there is no smoking gun, even if there is a gun. Worth a look.
