Catch up Capsules: MARLIE MATLIN, IF I HAD LEGS I'd KICK YOU, BALTIMORONS

MARLEE MATLIN: NOT ALONE ANY MORE
A look at the life and career of Marlee Matlin, whose refusal to bend to Hollywood's idea of how a deaf person should act limited her career despite her abilties.  This is a solid film bio about an actress who seemed to leave but never did.

IF I HAD LEGS I'D KICK YOU
Rose Byrne give an Oscar bait performance as woman who is a therapist whose life is imploding as her abiltiy to cope dies.

Yes this is an Oscar bait film. This is a film made to win awards and have people take notice because of its challenging subject matter and arty execution (much of the film is in close up , mostly og Byrne's face.) Its signals how meritorious it is from the opening frames where Byrne breaks apart because a doctor treating her sick daughter won't buy her bullshit.

If I had a stick I'd hit the filmmakers for think the audience would by the bullshit.

BALTIMORONS
Duplass Brothers comedy about a man who needs a dentist on Christmas eve and ends up on an adventure with the dentist. This is a sweet little film that is inoffensive and completely forgetable.
