Almost Home (2025) Tasveer Film Festival

A soldier home from the war in Afghanistan tries to reconnect with his family, despite being haunted by something terrible that happened in the war.

This is a very good short film.  It is a solid look at PTSD and the complications of being a Muslim soldier in America.  It's a film that will open your eyes.

Actually, what it will do is make you wish this were a feature. This is a knock against the film, rather it is simply a statement that there is way too much going on in this film to be contained in 20 minutes.  This film opens up a box, the Muslim soldier story, that  needs to be explored more fully. This is especially true when you add the PTSD angle since it adds layers we need to consider. Frankly,  this is too short with everything feeling rushed. This needs a feature exploration. Until that happens ALMOST HOME will have to do.

Recommended.
