Found footage of trains is used o create a hypnotic portrait of of Europe through the 20th century. Just as the train lines connect cities, the images connect up events
This maybe the most hypnotic film you will see this year.
The mix of found footage and an ambient soundtrack makes for hypnotic
experience. This is a film we fall into and are carried along bhe images. It’s
a film you’ll want to see as big as possible, with your phone turned off. For maximum
effect.
Because there isn’t a narrative as such, the film goes from
the building of a train on though the cities and events of the past century
with no commentary, I am hesitant to say what I think about the film other than
I loved it. What I got of the film will probably not be what you get. At the
same time if we had seen the film together, I know that the film will spark
hours of discussion as we compare notes and explain how we connected up the
various pieces of film.
This is film is a stunner and is very recommended when it
play, first in NYC and then around the country.
