In a dystopian future where people are reduced to numbers, two brothers are hunted by an unnamed killer.
If you are a fan of thrillers MIDNIGHT DREAMER is one to watch. While the dystopian world doesn't always make a great deal of sense, but the plight of two brother on the run thrills.
There is a reason I love looking at smaller films and smaller festivals, which is simply you get to see films that open up your world view. The films you find are not like the mass produced product from Hollywood. The films have a point of view that we haven't seen before and introduce you to new directors. Watching this film from the International Film Festival of South Asia Toronto I was introduced to Pakistani-Canadian filmmaker Khizer Khani who gives us a thriller that is colored by his South Asian upbringing. It's his perspective that brings life to what should have been a by the numbers film. Instead of a film that is hurt by any short comings, we get a film that itrigues us with choices and voices that we don't see.
This is an unexpected treasure. When MIDNIGHT DREAMER gets near you, give it a try.
