A girls soccer team plays in a tournament....
...and if you think I'm going to be able to tell you anything that happens you are mistaken since there is no real plot, nor characters, nor humor, nor performances. There really isn't much here execpt an attempt to ape the style of Stephen Chow in a series of shots that are so full of CGI as to make this film little more than a bad animated cartoon.
The incredibly sad thing is this isn't some hack copying Chow's style but Chow himself who seems to have lost the ability to tell a cinematic story since his last film a few years back.
Who thought this was a good idea?
There is no plot development. Things just happen. We are left with a series of shots/sequences that are supposed to be full of magic and humor and it all falls flat. The wicked images mean nothing when every shot is CGI constructed so that there is something "jaw dropping" in it.
This feels like this is the highlight reel of a three and a half hour film.
It's kind of like watching an old school cartoon brought to life without the weight and depth and stritched to almost two hours.
I may have issues with Shephen Chow's films in the past but I can not imagine that someone of his previous skill and stature made this. Its so bad that all I can think is something serious happened to him.
Not recommended.
