A paramedic responding to a call from a crime boss finds his life up ended as things go from blodsoaked to soul crushing.
Hugo Ruiz returns to Tribeca with a film that didn't really connect to me. The problem is the film doesn't seem to be about the maguffin that everyone is searching for and instead is more intersted in being as unpleasant as possible. The film simply wants the audience to plead with god to stop the ugliness on screen. This is a film that wants stomachs to churn.
I would be fine with that except that therereall isn't here to root for. The paramedic is too bland while everyone else is too over the top and unlikable. I kept wondering why was I still in my seat when this was not doing anything for me.
Don't get me wrong, it is well made, but there wasn't enough for me to recommend it to anyone unless they are sadists.
