During the battle of Paschendale during the First World War, a tank crew moving through no man's land taking out German fixed positions ends up stranded. The film is based on the 41 'Fray Bentos'(the event is recounted here) which saw the men trapped for 60 hours in the tank, in the mud. They had to try and find away to get out of the tank and get the equipment to free them while under heavy file.
This film is a trip. Its a tense little film that generates a great deal of suspense. I knew nothing about the actual event so I was sitting on the edge of my seat wating to to see how they would get out, or even simply would they get out. I was so moved that when I was done I went on line to find out what really happened.
This is a small gem of a film. This is exactly the sort of film that I started Unseen Films to highlight. Small films that need to highlighted.
Get some popcorn and see this film.
