A young woman will do anything to get ahead in the world of Brazialian funk.
I went into this film because I was hoping that the music would delight me, unfortunate it didn't happen. I never connected to the music. It also didn't help that the mix sounded very flat at the screening I attended.
While I know the film reflects some aspect of life, it didn't thrill me. I didn't particularly like anyone on screen since all anyone wanted to do was party and or get ahead damn the cost. For me there was no one to root for.
When I don't like films like this I wonder if I am getting old, but then I wander into one of the other music films (both docs and narratives) and I find that its not the music but the presentation.
I'd skip this.
Very disappointed! Turned off after 10 minutes!!
