After seeing videos of animals being crushed to death, a young girl runs off to find her missing cat and ends up kidnapped. Her parents must then try and find her.
There is an underground section of society where people get off watching women in sexy close crush animals to death. The catalyst for everything that happens in this film is tied to that. How you react to the film is going to be determined by your feeling for those sort of things, even if they are "pretend'.
My issues with the film are bit more problematic than some of the subject matter, since the film, even on it's own turns isn't very good. There are two problems with the film, the first being the script. Very deliberately written the film never feels quite right. There are attempts at humor whch don't hit the target (The ending for example) and some of the turns don't feel real. Things happen to either make a point, provoke a reaction or because the filmmakers want it to. It's not real.
The other problem is the acting which isn't very good.The mannered script miht have not been as noticable had the cast been able to seem real and not reading lines. I never had a sense of anyone real being on screen.
A miss.
