Actor David Graziano directed one film before his current gem SAY HELLO, which was named SISYPHUS. The film is the story of two women who marriages have imploded and they consider changing the course of the relationship.
Graziano's first time in the director's chair is a solid film. This is a well acted film that feels like a short story. That isn't surprising since the film is based on a short story by Bryan Casey. It is the cinematic equivilant to a short story you might have found in the New Yorker. It's a "moment in time".
Watching the film, Graziano's first, a short time after SAY HELLO, his latest, was a trip. It was a wonderful experience because I could see how far Graziano has grown between his films. As much as we talk about watching the arc of a filmmaker, rarely do we actually do it. Getting to do it was a blast. It's clear watching the film that Graziano had some great talent. While there are a couple of moments where Graziano cribs a shot or two from his cinematographer Christopher DiNunzio, himself a great director, he actually impresses us with how wonderfully he handles his actors. This film is all his doing. Watching the film you can tell he's an actor in love with good acting, he frames them best to show off their talent. It's something that is even more amazing because when you watch the background actors in the coffee shop he makes them seem like real people and not just background filler. (Someone give him a feature)
This is sweet little film you'll want to see.
