A Storm Foretold (2023) opens tomorrow

Filmmaker Christoffer Gulbrandsen. follows political monster Roger Stone over several years and charts his bad behavior and changing opinion of his friend Donald Trump.

How you feel about this film will depend upon your feeling for Stone. If you like the man then you are going to get off on Stone's bad behavior. If you hate him then this film is going to scare the crap out of you because it clearly shows Stone to be a sociopath who is playing grand games to amuse himself.

Beginning with Stone trying to light ridiculously large cigar the size of a loaf of French bread, the film then marches on as Stone spouts all sorts of ridiculous but hateful and criminal things in a drive to subvert freedom and get his boys firmly in control of America. We watch as he gives his commentary on the events during the Trump presidency and then turns on Trump for not having the balls to lead a coup after January 6.

Joining several other looks at Stone that have appeared over the last few years, A STORM FORETOLD maybe the most troubling. Certainly its the most thought provoking because it's seemingly Stone unfiltered. Much of this is very funny, even if it's terrifying. And that is what is so disturbing, Stone is a very smart buffoon who will do anything to get his way. He doesn't seem dangerous, except that while you're distracted by his charm his picking your pocket or is slipping a knife in your ribs.

If you want to know the men who are trying to take over the country for their own benefit, see this film. Also if you want a real world horror film, this is a must.
