For fans only film follows musician and comedian Marc Rebillet on the road as the world opens up after covid.
Made up largely of unimaginative concert footage mixed with some internet clips, home movies and behind the scenes stuff this looks like a film that was was just put together as an after thought. Honestly I'm left wondering how this ended up being picked to play anywhere. Blame the limited camera angles for sinking this. They make it all less than exciting with way too many of shots from behind while he DJs. This is the least appealing concert footage I've ever seen. It's worse than even a single nailed to the floor camera because at least then you know the camera was nailed to the floor it can't shift perspective. Here we have blind baboons recording the concert and picking the least interesting shots.
I really disliked this film.
For the first time in 14 Tribecas I've seen a music documentary that was so uninformative and so uninvolving I have no plans to investigate the music or the performer on screen further.
Who was this made for? Clearly only those who've drunk the Rebillet Kool Aid.
For fans only, all other look elsewhere.
