Blood in the Snow is one of my favorite film festivals. Its almost always the final fest I cover every year and it's a glorious way to do so with a bunch of wonderful genre films. It's lots of shorts mixed with a few choice features.
While I did not cover the fest last year, owing to life getting in the way, I have covered every other year going back to 2017. And when I say covered I watched literally every film of every length that was sent to me. Why? Because it's that well programmed. This year I am doing the same thing. If they sent me the film I saw it and wrote it up. And while some are better than others-with so many films how can they not be statified- they are all worth your time. I will not try and o a must see list because there are so many great films in so many collections you would have to buy tickets to every screening to see them all. so just see as much as you can.
Reviews will run roughly two days before the films screen so you will have time to get tickets. (go here)
A side note: because the shorts are often very short or because they hinge on a turn- my reviews are just a few lines- its not laziness, its just I do not want to spoil anything for you.
As I said I love this festival a great deal so do yourself a favor and buy some tickets (go here for the slate, tickets and other fun stuff) and go.
