Robe Imbriano's CRIMINAL is a one of a kind animated documentary short musical about cash bail.
I see your eyes glazing over, but that would be wrong. After all the New Yorker put the film on their website (go here).
The truth is that CRIMINAL is a magnificent film that beautifully explore the issues with bail and the problems with it. It's a film that even had me, someone who has a day job in the criminal justice system, pondering the way bail is used.
CRIMINAL is a one of a kind film that forcefully shows that there is no wrong way to tell a story if it works. Some times you have to mash things to get the result you want.
One the great surprises of the year and a must see.
