One of the rare misses at DOC NYC LOST FOR WORDS is a lyrical examination of how some words relating to nature disappeared from a certain dictionary.
While I like the the examination of words and what they mean, I really dislike the central premise of the film that we are looking at nature words from one dictionary that are gone. While the loss of words is never good, I'm kind of at a loss as to explain why or how you can not have words like otter or wren or acorn from the list when they relate to things that exist. It's not like the removal of the words removes otters from existence, it simply removes them from one list.
Yes, I know it's just a jumping off point, but it doesn't really work.
