No Mercy (2025) DOC NYC 2025

NO MERCY is one of the greatest films on film I've run across. Period. Full Stop.

Isa Willinger examination of whether women make harsher films than men is a look at cinema in ways that you probably have never considered before. I say this not because the POV is not male centered, but rather because Willinger asks questions of her subjects that I've never heard asked before from an interviewed either male or female.  This film will open your eyes to what the movies could be and should be.

Wow and WOW.

I'm not going to go into a long discussion of the film, not because it's bad, it's actually one of the best of 2025 and the best cinema doc ever, but because I need to see the film again... and again. There are simply too many directors (if you name a female director working in cinema today odds are she is here) and too many ideas for me to fully process what I am being told in a festival setting. (I needed to sit and think and discuss and not bump on to the next film)

If you love the movies-from everyone everywhere- then you need to see this.

One of the great films of 2025 and DOC NYC
