Portrait of musician Nash the Slash, real name James Jeffrey "Jeff" Plewman, and his quiet influence on rock and roll.
There is a bonus reason that I love the Blood in the Snow Film Festival, and that is every year they programmed one film that has me scratching my head going in and coming out with a big ass smile on my face because I just discovered something special. This year it WAS NASH THE SLASH RISES AGAIN! I went into the film trying to figure out why a genre festival specializing in horror, scince fiction and violence would run a film about amusician. Okay, yes he is wrapped like Claude Rains in THE INVISIBLE MAN, but it's a music doc. What is doing at BITS?
It's doing something at BITS because it's a great film. Nash the Slash was a great musician making his own path. It's a story most people don't know despite the fact that Nash was quietly making waves and changing how anyone who heard his music saw all forms of music.
This is a great film. Its a story full of great music and great stories.
You need to see this.
Highly recommended.
