This was another quiet film playing NYAFF that I need to revisit.
The film tells the interconnected stories of several queer women trying to make a life in the world. They are faced with the troubles of finding someone to love and how society sees them. Will they do what makes them happy or will they do what society wants.
While the plot may sound like we've been here before we really haven't. We haven't met these women and heard these tales. We also haven't had a film like this where the LGBTQ angle is paraded out as something special. These are women who are lesbians and this is their lives. It's not like a Hollywood film where that would have been something pushed to get eyes to watch. It is most certainly here but its just life not a selling point.
Worth a look.
