Joan Chen stars as a Chinese immigrant to Canada who is trapped in a bad marriageand unhappy home life. When she meets a younger woman from Canada it begins a friendship that becomes something more.
This is a good, if very by the numbers tale. We've been here before in other stories and as a result we can more or less guess how this is going to play out. While Chen and the cast pull us in and keep us interested (even if some look the wrong age for their roles) so we will happily travel down this familiar road again.
Don't get me wrong I enjoyed the ride, I just wish it had more weight.
