Where We Played: Voices From the Fire (2026) Heartland FIlm Festival 2026

Children who survived the Los Angeles wildfires talk about their experiences.

This is a very good, very emotional look at how the fires affected the kids who were in the path of the fires. It a film that starts out similar to several other similar short films about the effects of the fires and then the film charts its own course.

Personally, while I think the film is very good, I kind of wish this film ran longer than 9 minutes. Don’t get me wrong, but there is so much that was left unsaid and uncovered. I say this because I had seen some other films on the wildfires and they covered other aspects that relate to this (truthfully, they should all be cut together). This film would be incredible if it could be expanded.

However, as it is it is moving and as such it is recommended.
