Brief thoughts WHAT BELONGS TO OTHERS (Cudze rzeczy)(2026) Venice 2026

Kasia, a woman who scams and steals what she can finds her home in danger due to failure to pay rent. Things become complicated when her partner is arrested and her landlord decides to have her move out immediantly. In a desperate search for a new place to live she finds her life changing.

This is a good little film that does what it does and then gets off. refusing to reinvent the wheel, it instead gives us a solid tale told well.

The film is a portrait of Kasia and the arc of her life. It's a film that is very much of the dramatic subgenre of films like the Oscar wining NOMADLAND which is both it's strength and weakness. The weakness is that the film follows the tropes to the point where the film feels a bit to familiar so it doesn't stand out on it's own.

Still it is well made and will likely find a long life at festivals and in the outlets that specialize in better foreign films.

Worth a look.
