Horror comedy police procedural has a cop transferring into a small town just as the tension between the farmers and the local hunt club, made up of rich landowners boils over. It seems the hunt club have been feeding and breeding the wild boars they hunt and letting them trample the farmers fields.
This is a one-of-a-kind mix of genres that is an absolute delight. One part cop drama/comedy, one part horror film, one-part social comedy, TOO MANY BEASTS mixes everything up into an entertaining mix. Refusing to go in any expected ways the film drags us along on a delightful road trip that never goes as expected even if we kind of know where we are going to end up.
I was wary at first since I didn’t know what the film was doing, but once the table was set and the film got going I was happy to follow it anywhere.
Is this film high art?
Absolutely not but it is damn entertaining.
