A man takes a cult expert to retrieve his wife and child from a cult that venerates a dog as divine being.
You will understand why this film got banned Thailand for almost three decades. This is a savage take down of religious leadership, thought and blind faith. Its a film that begins with religious leader explaining away necrophilia in straight faced but clearly ridiculous way, before getting even more savage in it's take down of religious leadership. The film is less an attack on the basic ideas of religion but how they are warped by the men who head our churches and how everyone just goes with it. In an age where the religious right is pushing for people to bend their knees to their beliefs, this film acts as a dire warning about the madness of men.
I laughed. I groaned. I was horrified. I was left staring at the screen in disblief.
While I think the film is probably a twenty minutes too long, this film is a still a stunner.
If you love the idea of free thought and freedom of religion you must see this film before religious leaders discover that the film is about them and they try to ban it everywhere.
