This is a troubling film that is not going to play in many places because the subject is not going to sit well with a lot of audiences. I say this up front because the description of the plot may be triggering to some.
The film is the story of a man named Richard who goes to stay with his parents when he realizes that is feelings for his girlfriends young daughter is wrong. Things become complicated when he discovers his mother's caregiver has a side gig as a Lolita model.
I'm not going to lie, this is a tough film. Its a film that doesn't go for sensation, but at the same time it doesn't look away. Its a film with characters who seem to react honestly. Its a film that will make you very uncomfortable.
I do not know how to discuss this film. Part of it is that I don't want to trigger anyone and part of it is I'm still wrestling with it. This film kicked up a lot of stuff that I don't want to discuss for a number of reasons, including I don't have the words.
This is a really good film. If you want to see a solid film that looks at a serious subject I recommend this film. On the other hand if you don't want to be rattled, stay away.
