In rural Taiwan the friendship of two boys is tested as things become tense between the adults, particularly those that work the land and those that want solar farms. (There is more to it than that but that will get you started)
This is a great film. It manages to get the great fruendships that for between boys spot on. It also gets the awkwardness of what its like to be a boy of a certain age as the complexity of hormones and feelings kick in as well as the moments when you begin to understand bits of the asult world as something more than a kid. I was rocked because it brought back wave upon wave of what I was feeling all those decades ago. Some things never leave us.
While I'm not too certain about the narrative thread that everything is hung on, I am certain about the performances and the characters who rocked my world. This film is spot on and a must see.
One of the great finds of 2026.
(I'm sorry I'm not saying more but you don't want me to compare chunks of this to what I experienced as a kid. Just see the film.)
