Dario, a father with severely disabled son, begins to click with his teenaged nephew over motorbikes and things his own son is unable to do. As the two grow close the relationship begins to upset the family dynamic.
This is as perfectly made a family drama as you can imagine. Its a perfectly acted film with a perfectly written script that hits all the right notes exactly right. For the most part the film is so perfect that I didn't have anything much to say about the film because there was nothing to say because it was all as good as filmmaking can get. (That is a rave)
And then the film draws to it's conclusion and its a father and son smiling at each other. Back to the tough grind of a family with a special needs kid... and the needle drops and from the first couple notes I realize what the song is (a cover of Yazoo's Only You) and I am sobbing like no tomorrow because I know what the lyrics are and they are as perfect as you can get for that exact moment. What was very good film became a truly great film with the final flourish. Every single thing you saw was hammered home by the correct use of a song.
Wow and WOW.
A must see film, that I suspect is going to have a long life.
