With no extraneous wrestling matches this film just concentrates on the plot and is all the better for it. The plot has Superzan and the Blue Demon helping out a woman who is in danger from a bad guy who is in league with the devil and who has an army of zombies or mummies.
I've been slowly going through a stack of masked wrestler movies that I picked up and so far this is one of the best. While there is some silliness here and there the film actually shows signs of being more than just a knock off to make money.. The zombies are scary, the music eerie. The plot isn't as childish or stupid as some of the similar films produced in the 1970's were. It's the sort of thing that had the heroes not been clad in masks and capes, this would have become a grindhouse staple.
