VICA Fine Arts Film Festival: 3 Features: ARTISTS ON NYC, AMERENIA(S): FOR ARTISTS and FUNERAL DIARIES

I'm slowly working my way through the FIne Arts FIlm Festival reviews. Apologies that these are so short but I am trying to get word out fast while dancing with the day job's return....

ARTISTS IN NYC
Numerous new York based artists talk about their and the art of others. Cinematic equivalent of going into an art gallery can be a little bit overwhelming and disjointed as we bounce from different styles of art. Some of the art will speak to you some will not. Some of the artists will click with you and some will not. I think I love the pieces more than the whole but I still found it frequently uplifting.

ARMENIA(S)- FOR ARTISTS
Excellent hour long look at how where we come from or the places that out families hail from influence the art we create. Featuring a variety of different artists including filmmaker Atom Egoyan this is a stunning look at how home affects we do. I must see- and for me a must see again

FUNERAL DIARIES
Portrait of three ministers moved from the parishes where they had a long relationship to new ones. We watch as the ministers attempt to deal with their ne situations and their ne parishioners. Its an eye opening look at not only the men who spread the word of god but their flocks and the very nature of religion itself. Thoughtful and moving
