After 17 years apart the wife and daughter of an NYC taxi drive arrive from Tanzania. While they have tried to remain connected, 17 years is a long time to be apart.
I really liked this drama. There is a lived in quality to it all. I love that the plot doesn't do what we expect. It isn't all high points, there are are a lot of small moments that bring great revelations. I also love that the film takes time to let us see things from everyone's perspective.
Also stunning is the cast. Ntare Mwine, Zainab Jah, Jayme Lawson shine. They don't feel like they are acting but living the story.
This is a small gem.
