Krzysztof Wodiczko: The Art of Un-War (2022) New York Jewish Film Festival 2023

Super portrait of the artist best known for producing large scale works of art or for taking his art to the streets (he will use projections in public spaces). The film is ties into a show in South Korea.

I really liked this film a great deal. Too often with artist biographies the films either focus too much on the work or too much on the artist. UN-WAR gets the balance exactly right and as we go through all of Wodiczko’s work we are going through his life with the result that we never feel short changed, rather we feel like we want to go out and track down his work.

What an absolute delight.

If I were to quibble with the film at all it would be that this film is so good I wish it were longer than the 61 minutes it runs.

Highly recommended.
