Short takes on long films from 2022

 TIGER 24
Very good documentary about the efforts to save the Bengal Tigers who are increasing running into populated areas.

ELEPHANT REFUGEES
A look at the effort to save elephants from poaching in Botswana that are being complicated by climate change. Good but we’ve been here before

INSTITUTE
Couple desperate to have a child go away to the mysterious organization and find that things are not as expected. Okay horror/thriller isn’t bad as such but its so run of the mill that you’ll be 57 steps ahead of it.

PISTOLEROS DEATH DRUGS AND ROCK AND ROLL
Excellent documentary on the inde rock band that doesn’t shy away from the rough parts. Worth a look even if you aren’t a fan of the band. This is just good story telling.

PASSENGER
Good horror film about a group of people who hit a woman on the road and find that they should have kept going. While hitting some of the expected notes this film still is worth a look  because you want to see how this all come out.

GOOD SHEPHERDS
Odd mix of travelogue and concert film as the Vienna Boys Choir travels the world and sings songs promoting the idea that we should all shepherd each other. While not bad, it requires that you be on its wavelength.
