DOC NYC Shorts: INTERSECTION, BUTTS, ARRHTHMIA, CHOOSING A LINE, FLOTSAM and CHANGING THE NARRATIVE

CHANGING THE NARRATIVE: The Vision of Oscar Micheaux
Excellent but much too short portrait of a legendary filmmaker and author who helped changed society for the better by presenting an accurate portrait of African American life in America.   A wonderfully done short doc it’s only sin is that it is only 19 minutes long and screams out for a longer exploration of it’s subject

FLOTSAM
Portrait of the Gowanus Canal that ponders what if it was clan enough to swim in.
Beautiful

CHOOSING A LINE
The director talks about wanting to slackline across a canyon....
Way,way way too short film seems like the very start of something before it just stops dead.

ARRHYTHMIA
A look ar the pervasive fear has crept into our lives made up of breathing exercises, abstract images and text.
An interesting experiment

BUTTS
An amusing looks at our bottoms

INTERSECTION
An excellent look at the intersection of being black and a woman
